Shortly after being born with a birth defect affecting her hips and legs (bilateral proximal femoral focal deficiency, PFFD), Jennifer underwent above knee amputation of her right leg. Jennifer has spent her entire life utilizing various medical devices, such as a wheelchair, crutches, and a prosthetic limb. She is passionate about using her art to portray the disabled body, and the incorporation of medical equipment, in a positive light for children. Her medical illustration is whimsical and inspires fantasy.
