There's a lot to do today! Grandpa teaches Sweet Pea life lessons as they work together in the garden. Whether she's learning how to feed grumpy chickens, or realizing the value of a cracked bucket, Sweet Pea is up for the challenge. 

The majority of amputations in the world affect older people with vascular issues. I wanted to write and illustrate a book that featured a grandparent with an amputation, but the story doesn't revolve around that fact at all. I hope the simplicity of the story will give young readers/parents/grandparents the space and opportunity to explore the topic of limb loss.
